Plan your 2027 sitting
The RCR has published three Clinical Radiology Physics sittings for 2027: 11 March, 10 June and 9 September. Put both the examination date and the booking deadline in your revision plan.
Official information checked 7 November 2026. Verify dates, venues and fees with the RCR.

These dates are for the Physics module. Anatomy is a separate component. Booking opening times vary by venue; check the RCR Exam Hub for your chosen centre.

Check your RCR account, membership status, eligibility and the fee for your venue. The current booking FAQs explain access to bookings. Use the published resident doctor/member and non-member windows above when planning your application.
The current clinical radiology regulations require UK trainees to have TPD support and current RCR membership. Both Part 1 components must be completed within four years of the first successful component. The maximum is six attempts; the RCR sets out a specific adjustment-related provision for annulment of previous failures. Read the clinical radiology regulations for your circumstances.
The RCR publishes fees per module and by venue. Follow its current fee table rather than assuming a single worldwide Physics fee. Book the official examination through the RCR; a Physics Bank revision pass provides access to learning materials only.
Current RCR guidance describes 40 questions with five independent True/False statements each, completed in two hours using Speedwell. Calculators are not required. A correct answer earns one mark; an incorrect answer earns zero, with no negative marking. The pass standard is set for each sitting. See the exam-format guide and official sources.
Our suggestion is to work backwards from your sitting, reserving time for a full syllabus pass, weak-topic repair and fresh timed papers. Choose a workload you can sustain alongside clinical training. A missed week is a reason to adjust the plan, rather than rush through explanations to keep an arbitrary question count on track.
Use the adaptable revision framework and chief-examiner insights to decide what each revision session should achieve.
Results are provided individually in the Exam Hub, with email information afterwards. The RCR does not publish full pass lists under its current clinical radiology regulations. Historical cohort outcomes are a separate resource: our pass-rate analysis explains what the latest published dataset can tell you.
Match the access expiry shown at checkout to the period you intend to revise. The Physics Bank currently offers March and June 2027 sitting passes alongside shorter access options. A June pass ends after the June sitting, so it does not cover September revision. Check the plan dates before purchasing for a later sitting.
